Who We Are

The Humanities Bookstore is based in Windermere in the English Lake District where our retail shop the Fireside Bookshop is open 7 days a week from 11am - 5pm, with longer hours in the summer. We have been booksellers since 1980 and offer a professional service via our shop and internet site.

The range of books we stock is separated into Categories and Sub Categories which can be searched via the Search our Stock button or browsed by clicking on the relevant category.

We supply books to individuals, institutions, libraries and universities all over the world and offer a reliable, fast, friendly and efficient service.

If you have any queries about our current stock, other titles you are searching for or subject areas that are of interest to you please email us. We can answer your question and/or add your requirements to our records.

We are always interested in buying books in our specialist fields and quality books in all subject areas, and can travel to view anywhere in the U.K. Please contact us for more details.

Where We Are

We are based in Windermere in the North West of England in the county of Cumbria in the English Lake District,approximately 16 miles from Junction 36 of the M6.

The shop is on the left hand side of Victoria Street which you turn into as you come off the main A591 road ,past the Tourist Information Office,next to the Queen's Hotel at the start of Windermere village.

We are only 500 yards from Windermere Railway Station.
